TORONTO, Ont. -- The Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) will be launching a month-long national television advertising campaign aimed at raising the profile of the profession and promoting its Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation.
The commercials, which were unveiled today on the association’s YouTube channel, are scheduled to air between March 25 and April 21. The bilingual campaign features two 30-second spots and will air nationally on CBC News Network, CTV News Channel, RDI, HGTV, Slice, and on Ztele in Quebec.
“We’re very excited to share with television viewers the story of supply chain professionals and their contributions to Canadian business,” said PMAC president and CEO Cheryl Paradowski. “The ad content is relatable and the messaging on supply chain opportunities is very strong.”
The first ad, titled “This is the One,” attempts to capture the scope of supply chain in 30 seconds, by highlighting sourcing, manufacturing and shipping processes.
“Explaining what the supply chain is in an elevator pitch to people who aren’t familiar with it can be a challenge,” said Paradowski. “This ad is an excellent visual overview that’s easy for anyone to follow. It also showcases the contributions SCMPs make in bringing products we all rely on to market.”
The second ad, “A Lot of Jobs,” highlights the number of job opportunities available in the field, utilizing the Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council’s 2012 HR Study report, which estimated 350,000 supply chain positions will come available over the next five years.
“There are so many career opportunities available in supply chain,” said Paradowski, “and the demand for strategic supply chain professionals is only going to continue to grow.”
