ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. --The Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME)has announced details of a selection of workshops and plant tours that will be offered at the 2013 AME “Excellence Inside” conference, which takes place Oct. 21-25 in Toronto.
“We’re focusing on offering diverse workshops and tours this year so that lean learners, from beginners to experts, can greatly expand their skill sets and expertise,” said Joe Fisher, conference chair.
Of the 40 workshops being offered at the conference, comprehensive sessions such as Introduction to Lean Strategy focus on the fundamentals of lean philosophy. Intermediate workshops like Learn the 3P Method examine concentrated waste reduction in product and process design. Other specialized workshops include How to Engage People’s Hearts and Minds, which offers an education on how to encourage a work culture where self-improvement and idea generation take precedence. Finally, sessions such as They do it With Stickers educate interested lean leaders on how to implement effective lean strategies when only a comparatively small budget is available, said a release.
Fifty plant tours on offer will include trips to Cogent Power, Bombardier, Canadian Pacific, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Molson Coors, Nestle Waters and many others.
