IFLN members announce Amsterdam conference

International Freight & Logistics Network, Inc (IFLN), the worldwide alliance of independent freight forwarders and logistic providers, is holding its 11th members' conference from April 2 to 5 at the NH Barbizon Palace in Amsterdam.

The Amsterdam meeting will kick off with a welcome reception and dinner, and the introduction of new members. During the conference sessions delegates will hear from some local figures, including Kees Weststrate of the Port of Rotterdam and Cok Molenaar, general manager of SynchroNet, who will speak about the potential for cooperation with IFLN members.

The main aim of the conference is to give IFLN members from around the world the chance to get together and talk about the industry, say organizers. The schedule incorporates plenty of time for networking in a relaxed atmosphere, as well as further presentations highlighting the latest developments within the organisation.

Freek van der Veen from China Shipping's Rotterdam office will give an overview of his company's new transatlantic service and what it offers to IFLN members, and an important message will be delivered by Daniel Lumpert, IFLN's Global Accounts Director, who will explain the Network's Global Supply Chain Management System.

"The Global Supply Chain Management System is an important development for our members," says IFLN president Michel Vanlerberghe. "This project will make a significant contribution to improving our competitive position compared to multinational operators.

As proof of the Global Supply Chain Management System's success, Pietro Casagrande of Prima will be explaining how it has assisted IFLN's Key Account initiative in winning new business from the multi-nationals.

Also on the Amsterdam agenda are presentations from Schiphol Airport, SkyLink Logistics of Toronto, and sponsoring companies from Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
